Category Archives: Club Announcements
I hope these fantastic stills have caught your eye and the current members of the HPC are reading this post thoroughly.
There is to be a VERY IMPORTANT meeting at the usual time and place tomorrow. Your points will see fruition. That is all I will say on the subject. If you do not want all of your hard work to count for nothing, then please attend the meeting tomorrow where the secret will be finally revealed.
See you then.
The title says it all. Due to a lack of time to plan meetings etc., we will not be having another HPC meeting until semester two.
However, please prepare for the next meeting by thinking of how you’d like the club to work in the upcoming months and how you’d like us as a club to focus our energy, time, and money.
Thanks for understanding, guys!
P.S. We’ll be having a treasure hunt soon.
Hey guys! Just remember that club meetings are now on Wednesdays, so show up. Also, if you have any game suggestions or whatever to give us, please send them in before the next meeting. Thanks!
As those of you who attended last week’s meeting would remember, we’ve set a permanent weekday for the club’s meetings to be held on. Wednesday will be the day when we get together at lunch from now on, so mark your schedules and keep it free.
Hey guys. In an effort to increase club/member communication, the HPC has established an Edmodo group.
For those of you who have an Edmodo account through school, the group code is: l2of5b.
If you are not on Edmodo, don’t worry because everything we post on Edmodo will be the exact same as the stuff we post on the blog.
However, if member interest is great enough, we may use the calendar feature on Edmodo and plan club meetings weeks and events weeks in advance for you.
See you on Wednesday!
Okay, guys. I’m really getting tired of scheduling/cancelling/rescheduling meetings and we need to have at least one meeting before winter break, so this post is dedicated to picking the next HPC meeting date.
All club members should be checking this website regularly, and if they don’t remember to check the website regularly, they should subscribe so they will be forced to remember.
WE ARE HAVING A MEETING NEXT WEEK. IF YOU ARE BUSY ON ANY DAY NEXT WEEK, PLEASE SAY SO IN A COMMENT BELOW AND WE WILL TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION.
The date of the meeting will be announced by the end of the week.
For those of you who do check the website often and who regularly show up to meetings and read your chapters and such, just know that you are outstanding (O). The rest of you are on the naughty list. If you are actually reading this post right now, please send us an e-mail with the word “tuna” as the subject and we will give you five points if we receive the e-mail before Thursday night. Also, please feel free to check the forum and post on it. You will be rewarded. Candy may also be given out at the next meeting as a holiday treat, however any and all of you should feel free to bring in food, as we haven’t had a special treat to share for many, many meetings. I think deep down that that is the source of our current misfortune. Feel free to read to the end of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets now. Any questions/discussion points you have should be taken note of to bring up at the next meeting if you feel so inclined.
Make sure to get your Fan Art in for a prize (which at this point is guaranteed).
One last thing; I think you guys need to see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=69WpCBLrdSQ . Yes, it is a safe link. It’s DanRad performing a song from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Please don’t take away this video as the most important thing you’ll remember from this post. That would make me really, really sad (but not because it’s a bad performance – I actually really liked it).
Please remember that there is an HPC meeting tomorrow and that if you are participating in the fan art contest, you should bring in your pieces then.
If you can’t make it with your piece to this meeting, try to show up to the soonest (can I say that?) meeting available. We may hold off judging our pieces tomorrow depending on the number of submissions, however we will still greatly appreciate seeing them then.
[Sorry. This whole post is so awkwardly worded.]
Okay. So here’s what’s going down:
This week’s meetings will be WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2011 and FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2011.
The Fan Art contest will be postponed until next week’s meeting, giving you all an extra weekend to come up with some beautiful object of HP affection.
The census will also extend into next week [but respond ASAP as we might pick a permanent weekday (if there is one that works for all/most people) to hold meetings on and your input on preferable dates will not be considered if it hasn’t been submitted].
We have been late in getting a lot of points counted up, so if you have any posters/etc. to give in to us now, please do so at the next two meetings (this includes any/all expired HPC or Philosophy Club posters still up around the school at the time of this post). Going on the forum may cause you to earn some hidden points, so get on that quickly as well. We’ll probably count all of the points up one day this week or on the weekend. I’ll try to have everything completely 100% updated for Sunday night.
I hope this post satiates any members who were feeling somewhat hungry or lonely. Speaking of food, feel free to bring some in this week to share.
Lastly, make sure to get a good start on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It’s a very exciting book.
If I forgot anything on this post, I will update it as I remember. If you have anything relevant/useful to say (perhaps to remind me of something I’ve forgotten), please do so in the comments section of this post. If you have something more interesting/fun to say, please do so on the forum and start up a big discussion.
Alright. It’s time.
To have your membership updated and verified for the continuance of the school year, please send us an e-mail stating: your NAME, the LUNCH HOURS YOU ARE BUSY, and any OTHER THOUGHTS you wish to relay.
By doing so, you are eligible to earn yourself one point for telling us which lunch hours you are busy (this will really benefit you in the future – it will help us plan meeting times), and up to two points for your comments, depending on how thoughtful etc. they are. Anything you say will be taken under advisement/consideration.
By the end of the day, I hope to have another post out with this week’s meeting times stated. If Friday is a mostly free day, it is very likely we will have a meeting then, as that is when the Fan Art Contest draws to a close.
Speaking of the Fan Art Contest, we (so far) have received ZERO submissions. Just so you know.
Okay. Get to it.
